Moving Check List

On Moving day relax and allow our staff to begin the work to ensure the safe passage of your household belongings. At SHW we strive to make the experience as easy as possible and hope that the end result will make you feel at home away from home.

We hope these tips may help you, knowing how much is already on your mind.

Remember to notify / arrange the following:

	Service Providers - Ensure you have made all the necessary arrangements to terminate and/or disconnect within the service agreement.
	Health Services - Doctors/Dentists, also ensure that any vaccinations you require are booked.
	Banking & Insurance - Closing any appropriate accounts.
	The Post Office - Arrange for mail to be re-directed.
	Disposal - Clear out the loft and dispose of unwanted goods. A garage sale or charity donation is a good way. Some council’s collect free of charge or a minimal fee may apply. You should investigate to find the best solution for you.

48 hours prior to the big day:

	Appliances - To be disconnected, defrosted, water hoses drained – ensure clean and dry.
	Garden - Toys and Tools to be cleaned, any motorised equipment to be drained of fuel e.g. lawnmower.
	Foodstuff or plants - Give away any perishables. Please note that we do not recommend sending any foodstuff as this can cause delays and further costs.
	Alcohol - It is highly recommended that Alcohol is not shipped due to customs regulations and requirements. We suggest you dispose of all remaining alcohol prior to the pack date.

Some helpful tips:

We suggest that you keep jewellery, money, legal documents, taxation papers and insurance policies with you.

Keep your personal telephone and address book with you.

Pack your suitcases and move them together with your valuables, passports and travel documents to a SAFE PLACE. This will prevent them from being accidentally packed with your effects.

Don’t forget to have one last walk about with our packers before the vehicle leaves to ensure that all items have been loaded to begin their journey.
